MP/ DCE Tours Flood Prone Areas At Doryumu and Kordiabe

Member of Parliament,Linda Ocloo and District Chief Executive, Fred Offei, toured some communities in the District affected by the heavy downpour last night.
They interacted with some of the opinion leaders and the Assembly Member of the community. According to Hon. Godwin Martey, Assembly Member of Kordiabe, some of the factors that led to flooding in some part of the community could be attributed to human factors. Even though the community undertakes periodic clean up exercises, some of the residents throw their refuse into the drainage whenever it rains, blocking the main culverts that collects water into the main storm drain.
The DCE and the MP advised them to desist from the act and has assured them of some temporary dredging works on the side drains whilst they involve Ghana Highways for a permanent solution to the perennial flooding of the communities.
